Biography

Graduated from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Arts (class of Veniamin Filshtinsky). Worked at the Oryol Academic Theatre named after I. S. Turgenev, founded the "Masterskaya" studio at the St. Petersburg "Na Liteinom" Theatre, headed the Riga Russian Theatre named after M. Chekhov, and served as the Chief Director of the Novosibirsk Drama Theatre "Stary Dom" (Old House). 

His productions have been and remain part of the repertoire of renowned St. Petersburg and Moscow theatres, including the G. A. Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre, the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Lensovet Theatre, the Theatre of Nations, the Na Bronnoy Theatre, the Lenkom Theatre of Mark Zakharov, and the Maly Theatre. In 2024, he debuted in opera at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre. 

A multiple nominee for the National Theatre Award "Golden Mask." Andrey Prikotenko's productions, in addition to the "Golden Mask," have been honored with awards such as the "Golden Sofit," "Casta Diva," and "Paradise," and have been winners at the "Baltic House," "Siberian Transit," and other major Russian and international festivals. The production "Demons" is a winner of the 1st International Summer Theatre Festival in the "Event of the Season" category and a recipient of the "Paradise" theatre award in the categories "Best Director" (Andrey Prikotenko) and "Best Supporting Actor" (Konstantin Teleghin).
